The Poconos Mountains region spans over 2400 square miles of land and is one big amusement park.
It offers a wide range of activities suitable for every age group and taste. The southern tier, called the “Ski region,” hosts all the major ski resorts, including Jack Frost Ski Resort and Big Boulder Ski Resort. The northern region of the Poconos Mountains is known as the “lake region” and has more significant and more extensive lakes compared to the south. Near the Arrowhead area, there are several major Pocono activities within a 30-minute drive including casinos, waterparks and outlet shopping centers.
Visitors can enjoy motor boating on Lake Harmony, explore the quaint town of Jim Thorpe, shop at the Crossings Outlet Complex, and golf at Jack Frost National Golf, Split Rock Resort, and Pocono Manor Resort. Moreover, adventure seekers can go four-wheeling on ATVs, experience a race car thrill at Pocono Raceway, and enjoy whitewater rafting, canoeing, and kayaking on the Lehigh River.
There are also several art and craft stores, horseback riding, shooting ranges, snowmobiling, and great fishing opportunities in the community and other state lakes.
